World COPD Day 2023 will take place this year on Nov 15th.
Please join COPD Support Ireland on that day to help us to raise awareness of the impact of living with COPD, and the benefits of staying active.
This year for World COPD Day we are taking part in a live international broadcast called the Global Big Baton Pass. Throughout a 24hr period a virtual baton will pass around the World and in each country where it stops there will be a live broadcast about how each country deals with COPD. The services they provide, the work they are doing to highlight COPD and in particular how physical activity is so important for COPD patients. The theme for the event is how keeping physically active is vital for COPD patients.
It will land in Ireland from 12 – 2pm on Nov 15th and we will be broadcasting live from the Maldron hotel in Tallaght. We hope that you can join us online for this event where we will have live exercise demonstrations, chats with healthcare professionals and providers, prerecorded videos from COPD experts and conversations with COPD Support Ireland members. We will also have a live step challenge to add to the total from our Step up and Step out challenge which will run in the lead up to World COPD Day.
